WHO IS CAUAN?

Cauan is an 18 years old Brazilian student, born and raised in the city of Fortaleza, at the Northeast of Brazil, passionate about art, science and technology, as well as their intersections. He believes 3D can not only expand the realm of stories one can tell, either by creating fantastic imagery or by re-creating elements of the real-world convincingly, but also serve technical research.
His personal motto in relation to art is Pablo Picasso's "learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist", that's why much of his artistic effort is directed towards photorrealism and learning about how certain optical and other natural phenomena take place, as well as how they affect human perception. One might not know what depth of field is, but they will most certainly instinctively distinguish a picture of a large structure from one of a miniature because of it.
The most predominant themes of his work are his love for space, with rockets, aircrafts and planetary systems; modern world derealization, mostly expressed by his first original artwork Lamp-man (May 2021); the uncanny, as seem in Eyes on the Plate (May 2021); and the idea of obsession, particularly romantic obsession, see Windflower (June 2021).
